My Background

Dr. Eddie Patton is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and has additional training and expertise in neuromuscular disorders. He is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery at the University of Texas, McGovern Medical School in Houston, Texas. He received his MBA from the Jones School of Business at Rice University. He currently practices neurology at UT Health Neurosciences- Memorial City.

Dr. Patton’s mission is to provide quality and compassionate neurological care to his patients. He strives to establish trust and good communication with patients and their families regarding care and treatment.

He currently serves on the board of the Texas Neurological Society, one of the largest state neurological societies in the nation, and served as president from 2022 to 2023. He is a past president of the Harris County Medical Society-Southwest Branch, and a member of the Government Relations Committee of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN). As a part of the Federal Advocacy Committee, he is responsible for aiding in creating the federal advocacy agenda for the American Academy of Neurology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Fellow of the American Leadership Forum. He is a graduate of the Emerging Leaders Forum sponsored by the AAN Class of 2016. He is also a graduate of the Texas Medical Association’s Leadership College. He is a member of the Harris County Medical Society, serving on the executive board. He has been named among Texas Monthly magazine’s SuperDoctors® and Houstonia magazine’s Top Doctors. Recently he was appointed by Texas Governor Greg Abbott to the Texas Council on Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Disorders.

Dr. Patton’s research has been published in peer-reviewed journals. He has presented on topics ranging from neuromuscular disease cases to new treatments and technologies for stroke to the effects of spirituality on end-of-life decision-making.
